Capote (Coat) Workshop

Saturday, Feb 8, 2020 at 10:00AM

Pembina Hills Arts Council

Picture yourself in a Metis voyageur Capote (Blanket Coat), wrapped in tradition. Come learn how to make your own Capote by hand, using historic patterns and materials, with Nancy Gouliquer. Bring your own wool blanket, (or purchase one from a selection of price ranges available from Nancy) and leave with your own traditional Capote!

Saturday, February 8, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
$65/person for instruction and sewing materials only.
*You can also upgrade your coat with fringe, accent yarn, cap-sleeve treatment, cape (extra $10), bound-edge finish (extra $10), etc.
Separate cost: Bring your own wool blanket or buy one of the gently used Trapper's Point & HBC blankets that will be available in a range from $80 - $160. (There is a possibility of other blankets (without brand labels, one colour only) at $40+, making an economical option).
