For over 41 years, Genesis House has provided emergency shelter to women and children fleeing gender-based violence. With space for up to 16 individuals, our five-bedroom shelter offers a safe haven—at no cost to residents—along with essential services like counselling, support groups, safety planning, advocacy, and education. In the 2023–2024 fiscal year alone, we provided 2,548 individual bed nights to those in crisis. But emergency shelter is just the beginning.

Too often, survivors face the terrifying reality of having nowhere to go after their shelter stay ends. That’s why Genesis House is launching a transitional housing project—a critical initiative to ensure that women and children in Southern Manitoba have access to longer-term, stable, and supportive housing as they rebuild their lives.

You can help make this vision a reality by joining us for the Ride for Refuge. Whether you ride, walk, donate, or start a team, your participation helps build a future where every survivor has not just a safe night—but a safe next step.
