WINKLER, MB – Southland Mall is proud to announce its 40th Anniversary Celebration and Grand Re-Opening on Friday, August 8, 2025, marking four decades of serving the Winkler community and surrounding region. The event will feature a vibrant lineup of entertainment, food, and family-friendly activities, and will highlight the mall’s continued growth—including the recent opening of Winners, a major new retail addition.
The festivities will begin at 11:00 AM with a Land Acknowledgment, followed by speeches from local dignitaries and community leaders. Guests will enjoy a performance by Indigenous traditional dancers, and a cheque donation will be presented to a local charity, reinforcing Southland Mall’s commitment to community support.
As part of the celebration, a 40th Anniversary Timeline has been created and installed inside the mall, showcasing key milestones, memorable moments, and the evolution of Southland Mall over the past four decades. This visual tribute invites visitors to reflect on the mall’s legacy and its role in the community.

•Free lunch for the first 500 guests: pork on a bun, drink, chips, and a cupcake
•Live music from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM
•Kids’ activities including face painting and glitter tattoos
•Community booths featuring local non-profits
•Door prizes including 8 x $25 Canadian Tire gift cards and a grand prize BBQ donated by Canadian Tire Winkler
