Guest Speaker Dr. Maureen Matthews, University of
Manitoba Anthropology Dept. and former Curator of Cultural Anthropology at the Manitoba Museum.
Dr. Matthews work includes working with the Elders' Council of the Treaty Relations Commission, and has written 6 Anishinaabemowin/Englsh books for the Communities of the Aki World Heritage Site and more!
The Town and the RM of Morris is situated in Treaty One area, and are named after Manitoba's 2nd Lt.Governor, the Right Honourable Alexander Morris. We hope to hear more on Alexander Morris' involvement with the numbered Treaties from Dr. Matthews on this evening!
