POSTPONED...POSTPONED...POSTPONED Drive-By Fish Fry
La Riviere, Manitoba
The global COVID-19 pandemic has been a challenging time for everyone. The world around us is changing so quickly, and we’ve been adjusting as needed, learning on the go and reacting in real time to increasing challenges that seem to change every day.
This year, La Riviere & Community Recreation Centre Board of Directors has decided to host a drive-thru supper fundraiser!
Something fishy is about to happen in La Riviere…

DRIVE-BY FISH FRY
ON SUNDAY, MAY 30, 2021 4-6:30PM
Enjoy our classic Fish Fry, with a new twist!
HOW IT WORKS:
1) Enter Blair Morrison Hall lane north of Blair Morrison Hall from Valley Street.
2) Let us know what you would like! We will take your order car-hop style.
3) Pay for your selections next.
4) We will have your order hot, fresh, and ready for you and delivered to your vehicle.
Enjoy your Fish Fry to-go!

Hearty helpings of baked potato, coleslaw and homemade beans plus all the trimmings complement the fish. The meal is rounded out with bottled water and the perfect portion of vanilla ice cream.

Ev Janzen, organizer of the event commented, "We just hope for a good turnout," she said. "We were so blessed with tremendous support from our citizens and surrounding communities last fall when we did our first ever drive-by. We're just pleased to be able to do it again with the nod from the MB Health Department officials and are excited to invite everyone out to enjoy some good fish with us."
We need to continue to follow standards, including the use of physical distancing measures and hygienic practices to reduce the transmission of COVID-19. Our plans have been sanctioned by the Public Health Inspector of Southern Region of Manitoba Health. We assure you that as always, all requirements currently under the Food and Food Handling Regulation will be adhered to while preparing your meal.
Because of COVID-19 restrictions we are unable to gather as usual and so there are a couple of critical changes to this event. Traffic Controllers will direct attendees to enter via back lane by turning onto Valley Street and then east onto back lane North of Blair Morrison Hall, and proceeding through the line in the back lane, and finally exiting onto Broadway Street for pick up and delivery at the arena entrance. To ensure proper social distancing, we are asking folks to stay in their vehicles. If driving is not an option for your family, please bike or walk to Blair Morrison Hall rear entrance and volunteers will ensure you can safely grab some food for you and yours.
Adult Plate: 2 pieces of pickerel $ 20.00, with Kids (12U) receiving 1 fillet $10.00. Taxes are included. No pre-orders. Our Spring Fish Fry (formerly our Spring Smorg) is our biggest fundraiser that we hold in a year! Tax receipts are given for any donation over $20 (for the amount less the cost of the meal itself).
While we understand that drive-thru’s aren’t ideal and wait times can be long, So, with that being said, please be patient with us and with others! And to be sure we do not run out of fish, we have increased our fish supply by 50 pounds.
We have felt the economic impact of Covid-19 since our building has been under lockdown. Your dinner will help us pay the electric bill, phone bill and others that have accumulated over these past months. We thank you for your past support and look forward to hearing your ideas about the future of La Riviere & Community Recreation Centre.
