Ice Sculpture Workshop on Lake Minnewasta!!
February 20 - 21, 2021
SPUTNIK ARCHITECTURE will be instructing this 2-day workshop!
Sputnik Architecture harvests ice from Manitoba rivers and lakes every year, and sculpts them into works of art. They have created ice art with Anish Kapoor, built ice bars at FortWhyte Alive, and an ice chute at the Forks. Every year they organize Winnipeg’s Warming Huts project at the Forks; in 2020 were awarded a National Urban Design Award of Excellence. Their objective is to get as many people as possible enjoying the outdoors, and art - but they also do architecture! We’re currently working on a feasibility study for the new Canadian Fossil Discovery Centre.
