UNDERSTANDING THE EMOTIONS OF CHILDREN AND TEENS
The Pivotal Role of Emotion in Behaviour and Development
We all need social connections, especially during this time of physical distancing.
Although we are apart, we need to feel bound together by community spirit.
The Community Connections Support Line can get you connected with a caring volunteer. Phone 204.750.8301
The emotions of children and teens can be large, loud, and messy! And yet emotion is confirmed to be at the core of development.
What are the implications for raising children? Should we be discouraging negative emotions? What role does the mind play in matters
of the heart? To make sense of emotion is to make sense of us all.

This course is geared to parents, grandparents, caregivers, foster parents, educators, daycare staff, social workers - anyone who
has children in their lives.
This is a Zoom course taught by Terry Warburton, and assisted by Audi DeWit, based on the work of developmental psychologist
Dr. Gordon Neufeld. It will be an interactive format including a teaching segment and time for discussion and questions.
There is no fee to participate in this course. You can register by emailing cwc.emotionalwellness@gmail.com and
